I’ve been sitting with this for a while, trying to find words big enough for how I feel. I’m not sure they exist, but I want to try.
The launch of my first book, The Reason..., took place at the Listowel Arms Hotel, and it was one of the most special days of my life. Looking out at a room filled with family, friends, clients and colleagues, some of whom had travelled from all around the country, I felt held in a way I’ll never forget.
A book years in the making
The Reason... has lived in my heart for a long time. It explores how, when our relationships and marriages struggle or fail, the roots so often go back to something that happened much earlier in our lives, often in childhood. It’s an invitation to come home to yourself, to raise your awareness with radical acceptance, and to finally break free from the patterns that keep you stuck.
To see it out in the world, and to celebrate it surrounded by people I love, close to home here in North Kerry, meant more than I can say.
Thank you
A heartfelt thank you to Deirdre Walsh of Radio Kerry, who launched the book so warmly and generously on the day.
Thank you to Cassandra Welford, my contributor, for being part of this journey with me.
Thank you to Domnick Walsh for capturing the day so beautifully in photographs I’ll treasure.
And thank you to the Listowel Arms Hotel for hosting us and making everyone feel so welcome.
To everyone who helped behind the scenes, to the local businesses who have supported me and the book, and to everyone who gave their time, effort and kindness, thank you. I feel incredibly lucky to be surrounded by such talented and supportive people, both locally and beyond. I truly couldn’t have done it without you all.
A very special thank you, too, to everyone who travelled to be there. Your presence meant the world to me.
